Before the videos.
For most of my life, basketball was everything. It was how I saw myself and the reason I went to college. But I’d also been making videos for fun since middle school, trying different YouTube channels and finding a creative outlet in it.
While I was playing college basketball and earning my business degree, a few of my videos started taking off. What began as something I enjoyed became an opportunity to travel, attend Sneaker Con events, and build a community around sneakers. I wanted to be the big brother I never had, putting people on game and sharing what I knew.
I eventually stepped away from basketball. Letting go of that identity was hard. When you spend your whole life picturing one future, finding yourself on a different path takes some figuring out.
What matters now.
Getting married and becoming a dad changed what I wanted to put my energy into. For a long time, I was focused on money and material things. These days, I find more meaning in showing up for my family, doing things for other people, and creating something that might help someone else.
I still love sneakers, style, technology, and making our home feel like us. I love cooking and spending time with my family. All of that shows up in what I create, because it’s part of my actual life.
I’m a normal guy still figuring out my purpose and this next part of life. I want to keep growing as a husband, a dad, and a man, and share what I learn along the way. After all these years making videos, I still feel like I’m just getting started.
